Although the weather isn’t quite baseball friendly on October 3rd the newest Latvian baseball team Teikas Gaisma played their second friendly game with the second team of Jelgava Dukes. The weather allowed to play only 6 innings and Teika managed to get their first ever victory.

From May 29th to 31st the international tournament Interleague was taking place in Brest (Belarus) with the participation of Latvian national team. Although Latvia didn’t manage to take a win home but a lot of improvement was seen in the teams game compared to previous round as Latvia had the lead in all of the games and only one game was shortened due to the Mercy rule.

The next round of Interleague will be held in the end of July in Riga where the last two teams from each group will play for the two remaining semifinal spots.
On May 1st and 2nd Riga Diamonds/Latvian University took part in a friendly tournament in Kutno, Poland. Due to this tournament the first games of Latvian Baseball league were suspended.

On July 11th Latvian baseball team finished its first official international start at EC qualifier in capital of Czechia. Unfortunately national team could not win a game and took four losses – 0:17 against Slovenia, 1:24 against Poland, 2:22 against Czech Republic and 7:17 against Belarus.
